Born and raised in Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Quebec, a tiny paper mill town, Dr. Charlotte was always fascinated by animals. Growing up, her parents owned a hobby farm where she spent most of her free time around the cats, the cattle and the horses. She attended CEGEP in Quebec City and graduated from Faculte de Medecine Veterinaire at Universite de Montreal in 1992. She started as a large animal veterinarian and transitioned into a mixed animal practionner when she opened her first clinic in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. Twenty years later, Dr. Sauvageau moved to Sudbury and accepted a job offer as a professor and animal care director at College Boreal, teaching Veterinary Technician students. During this time she slowly built NCAH. Needing a change, Dr. Sauvageau left the College in 2017 to focus full time on her practice. On her days off (which isn't very often!), you will find Dr. Charlotte on the golf course or on the softball field. She also enjoys biking and swimming but her all time favorite has to be cross country skiing. Winter in her season! Dr. Charlotte shared her life with her wife Tina, a couple of cornish rex, a Jack Russell Terrier, a Standard Poodle and an older DSH cat.
